The desert trading city of Kerman has long been a staging point for travelling between Persia and the Indian subcontinent and still is the best place from which to explore southeastern Iran. The city has a mud-brick core centered around the historic and very lively bazaar. This is surrounded by ever-expanding low-rise, blond-brick suburbs punctuated by qanat-fed parks.
The city is something like a melting pot, blending Persians with the more sub continental Baluchis who dominate eastern areas of here. This mix is most evident in the bazaar, which is a highlight. Sights in and around Kerman are Mahan city, Rayan Citadel, Shahdad Desert that can keep you for two to four days.
Arg-i Bam (Citadel of Bam), Shah Nematollah Vali Shrine, Shazdeh Garden, The Ganjali Khan Complex, Jabalieh Dome, and Bazar-e Sartasari (End-to-End Bazaar) are also among must see sites in Kerman.
