Shiraz
Shiraz, city of poets and nightingales, located in the heart of the ancient Persian empire. Not for nothing is here beautiful parks and idyllic gardens. Our word paradise comes even from Persian. Shiraz has a wonderful climate and is a tourist-friendly city where it is nice to stay.
Shiraz is a medium Iranian town south of Esfahan towards the Persian Gulf. It has an international airport with flights to and from Dubai and Istanbul. There are bus connections to include Esfahan, Yazd, Kerman and Bushehr and a sleeper train to Tehran.
Shiraz has enough attractions for a visit of several days. The center of the historic town is the imposing fortress of KarimZand. The nearby Vakil complex houses a traditional bazaar, a mosque and a hammam / museum. Visiting Shiraz is visiting Hafez. The mausoleum of the 14th century Persian poet is a crowded park lovers. The medieval Sufi poet Saadi has its own park / mausoleum with numerous worshipers.
For the cultural traveler with a passion for antiquity Shiraz is the perfect base for visiting the historic sites Pasargad, Persepolis, Naqsh-e Rustam, Firuzabad and Bishapur.
